Summer Time 2016 was held on June 16th. In order to celebrate the twinning of two prestigious luxury arteries; the Faubourg Saint-Honoré and the Via Condotti, in Rome, Summer Time 2016 put Italy in the spotlight this year!
A prestigious event: some sixty luxury houses welcomed their guests!
A chic and festive shopping tour at the biggest names in gastronomy, fashion, jewelry and the art of living.
The evening will take place in the presence of His Excellency Giandomenico Magliano, Ambassador of Italy to France, his wife and Mrs. Jeanne d’Hauteserre, Mayor of the 8th arrondissement.
With the support of the Italian Embassy, the Faubourg Saint-Honoré switched to Italian time; the warm, friendly and seductive spirit of Italy took possession of the district, to the great delight of passers-by and guests of each participating Maison.
Special events were held in each Maison to provide guests with a unique and surprising evening, punctuated by festive happenings.
A specific scenography was set up in the Faubourg, exceptionally given over to pedestrians and decorated in the colors of Italy.
Pennants and road signs indicated the streets participating in the event: rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and rue Saint-Honoré.
Cypresses and olive trees were arranged along the streets, plunging the entire district into a Mediterranean atmosphere thanks to their fragrant and sunny scents.
Vespas and old Italian collector cars will line the route. The famous Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo presented some iconic car models combining power and design.
To perfect the atmosphere, costumed extras walked the streets, reproducing iconic figures of Italy: gondoliers, movie characters, parade of legionnaires, processions of masked Venetians, etc.
A renowned sound designer, DJ Jean Croc, surrounded by dancers, livened up the evening with a playlist of Italian standards.
Finally, food trucks celebrating Italian gastronomy offered gelati, pizzas and other typically Italian delicacies.
Summer Time 2016 was once again the event of the season!
